Our Educational Programs

The Department of Neurology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center offers highly competitive neurology education for trainees of all levels, from medical students to residents, fellows, and practicing professionals. Our warm, caring, and nurturing environment combines the resources of an Ivy League medical school -- Weill Cornell Medical College -- and one of the world's leading medical centers, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

We offer programs including:

  • A Brain and Mind course, Neurology Clerkship, and Neurology Student Electives for medical students.
  • A four-year Neurology residency, which includes subspecialty training, as well as a specialized residency in Pediatric Neurology. Our residency program has a historic reputation for training some of the best neurologists in the United States.
  • Fellowships in neurologic subspecialties, such as Clinical Neurophysiology, Multiple Sclerosis, Vascular Neurology, and Neurocritical Care.
  • Continuing medical education (CME) programs and Grand Rounds.

In addition to delivering superb patient care, our faculty members are dedicated to neurology education as a vital component of their careers and are committed to advancing the field of neurology education. They also conduct research to identify ways to continue to improve neurology education.

Students and trainees in the Department of Neurology benefit from exposure to a diverse patient population, learning how to care for a broad range of diseases and disorders. Our collegial environment encourages collaboration between clinical neuropractitioners and neuroscience faculty. Moreover, our inventory of innovative, high-end diagnostic equipment allows for optimal and efficient diagnosis of both common and rare neurological disorders. From general neurology to subspecialty training, students leave our institution well-prepared to care for patients and to become the next generation of leaders in the field of neurology.
